About Frisco

Frisco is an affluent city located in Collin and Denton County. It is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and is located 27 miles from Downtown Dallas, 26 miles from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, and 24 miles from Dallas Love Field. From 2000-2009 Frisco was the fasted growing city in the United States. Like many Dallas suburbs, Frisco is accumulating many retail locations and attractions. Some of these retailers include the Stonebriar Mall, which makes up over 165 stores and one of the three Ikea locations in Texas. In 2016, Frisco will be the new home for the Dallas Cowboys training facility and headquarters. The Ford Center at the Star at Frisco is a 91-acre facility that is partnering with the city of Frisco and Frisco ISD to host the cities high school football games and local events. The Ford Center will also include the Omni Frisco Hotel, Cowboys Fit fitness club, a Baylor Scott & White sports medicine center, and a host of other retail and restaurants. Frisco is also home to Dr. Pepper Ballpark, which is home to the Frisco Rough Riders and the Dallas Stars Training Facility. Most of Frisco is within the Frisco ISD but some parts extend into the Lewisville ISD, Little Elm ISD, and Prosper ISD. Frisco has eight high schools, sixteen middle schools and forty elementary schools. All Frisco high schools compete in 5A because of the addition of 6a schools in Texas.
